Each year the Devonport Fly Fishing Club holds a Fly Fishing School/Camp at Hut Bay, Bronte Lagoon, aimed at teaching the art of fly fishing to beginners. In addition an intermediate course is held for those wishing to hone their skills. The emphasis is on teaching beginners the necessary skills to catch fish. The school/camp also places people with a shared interest in contact with each other, as a result many long lasting friendships are formed. The camp provides a friendly atmosphere where stories are shared, knowledge is acquired and the instructors who donate their time are more than approachable and willing to help. This is the only school/camp of its kind in Tasmania and has been held for a number of years
